The WBNA Community 1 Committee presents a community lecture on Understanding Gentrification with Dr. Taino Palermo, Program Director of the Community Development program at Roger Williams University.

Based on Dr. Palermo’s course, Community Revitalization & the Role of Gentrification, the lecture will provide a foundation to understand gentrification in relation to revitalization by examining community revitalization with a historic context around how communities form, evolve and re-develop. Specific  environmental and socio-political consequences of gentrification in other communities will be provided to help our community engage constructively in our own evolution. The lecture will include an interactive presentation and a discussion panel with several guests involved in public policy.

Children are welcome. We will have folks there to help care for them while you are at the meeting.

A Spanish translator will also be in attendance.
Free Pizza before the meeting starting at 6:45
