Knight Memorial Library Closed Temporarily for Mechanical and Electrical Work

Knight Memorial Library, one of the nine locations of Providence Community Library (PCL), closed temporarily on Saturday, July 22 to begin essential electrical and mechanical upgrades to the building, which is situated at 275, Elmwood Avenue. PCL apologizes for the sudden closure. After careful consideration, the Library decided that critical upgrade work should begin without delay, in order to assure safety in the building.

Patrons are encouraged to access materials, services programs at other PCL locations while Knight Memorial is closed. The decision to close was not made lightly and staff will do everything they can to minimize impact on library users and local residents. Patrons who have ordered library materials for pickup at Knight Memorial will be able to collect them from South Providence Library, 441 Prairie Avenue. Where possible, we will continue to offer some Knight Memorial programs at other locations in the Elmwood neighborhood and patrons should check the PCL website and PCL Facebook page for news and regular updates.

PCL looks forward to re-opening Knight Memorial Library once essential work is completed. If you have any questions, contact Janet Fuentes, PR and Marketing Manager  jfuentes@provcomlib.org .

Snow, Ice, Rain…But Still Plenty Happening at PCL!

The weather hasn’t been so kind of late but this is New England and we don’t let a little frozen precipitation slow us down! Thanks to everyone who supported our Spelling Bee fundraiser – check out a short report here. We are excited to report on our rewarding partnerships with two Providence children’s festivals and provide a round-up on other news. Enjoy!
