Citywide Parking Ban to Take Effect Sunday, December 10 at 2AM
City Prepares Ahead of First Snow Fall

PROVIDENCE, RI – Due to expected snow this weekend, a citywide parking ban will begin at 2:00AM on Sunday, December 10, and remain in effect until 6:00AM that same day. All Providence Recreation Centers will be closed Saturday, December 9 due to winter conditions.

Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure that roadways can be plowed.

The Department of Public Works has prepared all equipment and personnel to respond to the storm. Roadways will be pretreated ahead of the expected snowfall.

Residents experiencing power outages should contact National Grid at 800-322-3223. Individuals are warned never to touch downed power lines and report downed lines to National Grid. In the event of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
